My treatment specialties

Men's issues

As one of only about 15% of therapists who are men, I understand male psychology from the inside out. I specialize in helping you develop emotional intelligence, navigate life transitions, and break free from restrictive psychological patterns that limit your potential.

Stress & Anxiety

Learn practical techniques to manage stress and anxiety that go beyond basic relaxation exercises. I'll help you understand the root causes of your anxiety and develop tailored strategies that work with your unique thought patterns and nervous system.

Relationship Problems

Whether you're struggling to find relationships, maintain them, or need help ending unhealthy ones, I'll help you identify patterns from your past that affect your current relationships and develop healthier, more effective ways of connecting with others.

Depression, Low Self-Esteem, and the Inner Critic

That harsh voice in your head that tells you you're not good enough doesn't have to run your life. I'll help you understand where these critical patterns came from and develop practical tools to quiet the inner critic while building genuine self-compassion and confidence.

Gay and Bisexual Men’s Issues

I truly enjoy working with all types of men. While straight, gay and bisexual men share the same basic psychology, it is also true that growing up gay or bisexual creates special challenges for men wanting to be whole and integrated, which requires some special attention.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Childhood experiences shape our adult lives in constrictive ways we often don't recognize. Drawing upon recent advances in the recovery from childhood trauma, such as Somatic Experiencing and bilateral processing techniques like EMDR, I'll help you process these events, learn how they’re showing up in the present, and take steps toward a life that’s not ruled by the past.

Psychedelic Integration

With specialized training from the joint MAPS and CIIS Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy program, I can help you integrate insights from these powerful experiences into lasting positive changes in your daily life, supporting your journey toward greater wholeness and authenticity.

My Approach

I draw upon many different therapy methods, including:

  • Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Jungian Psychology

  • Couples Therapy, including the Gottman Method & Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Family therapy and Family Systems Theory

  • Group Therapy and Group Dynamics

  • EMDR

  • Attachment Theory

  • Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology

Here are a few newer techniques I draw upon.

  • IFS recognizes that our minds naturally contain different "parts" with various perspectives and emotions. I'll help you identify and understand these parts, especially those that may be creating unwanted patterns in your life. By developing compassion for these parts rather than fighting against them, we create profound healing and integration.

  • AEDP focuses on harnessing the healing power of emotions while creating a secure therapeutic relationship. This approach helps you access core emotions that may have been blocked, transforming painful experiences into sources of resilience and authentic connection. It's particularly effective for those who've felt emotionally stuck or disconnected.

  • Many of our most challenging issues stem from difficult past experiences that our body holds onto. Using Somatic Experiencing, we work with your nervous system to release stored physiological patterns that keep you stuck in fight, flight, or freeze responses. This body-centered approach complements cognitive work for comprehensive healing.
